Trophies and medals

Medals
Club medals will be awarded as follows:

Junior Weekend Medals:

  • For the best nett score by players with CONGU handicaps of 36 or less only.  (Scores will be adjusted to reflect the difference in the Standard Scratch Score (SSS) for ladies and gents.  (includes best nett score in 36-hole competition)
  • For the best scratch score (no adjustment will be made to reflect the difference in SSS for ladies and gents)
  • 9 hole - for the best Stableford score by a player with a CONGU handicap

Junior Midweek Stablefords
  • 18 hole - for the best Stableford score by a player with a CONGU handicap of 36 or less
  • 9 hole - for the best Stableford score by a player with a CONGU handicap

Junior Trophies
  • Championship Trophy: Winner of the Junior Championship
  • Championship Runner-up Trophy: Runner up in the Junior Championship
  • David Young Trophy: Singles knockout winner
  • Junior Summer Foursomes Trophy:  Foursomes knockout winners
  • Junior Stroke Play Trophy:  Winner of the 36 Hole scratch competition
  • Junior Order of Merit Trophy: Highest aggregate number of OOM points 
  • Summer shield: The Summer Shield will run over the five midweek Stablefords during the summer. The best three scores out of five will be added to determine the winner
  • Medal Winners Medal Trophy
  • Junior Most Improved Player Trophy:  Decided by the Junior Committee and based on a number of factors including handicap reduction, performance and behaviour

Handicap Order of Merit (for CONGU and Club handicaps)
The Handicap Order of Merit will run over the competition year and points can be accumulated based on the following criteria.

  • 1 point for entering and playing in a medal
  • 3 points for 1st place (nett), 2 points for 2nd place (nett) and 1 point for 3rd place (nett).

There are 11 qualifying events: 9 weekend medals, the Junior Open (6th July) and the 36-hole stroke play (only counts once).
